Must Reads Diversifying Your Knowledge Base Must reads are one of the most critical, yet "non-obvious" steps of becoming successful in anything you do. One thing that any industry magazine or industry specific seminar won't teach you, is that, to become truly successful, you must be multi-skilled. You must develop a broad base of skills and knowledge. It's not enough to just be great in your chosen profession or skill, if you really want to succeed. Success in business is a way of being. Successful people are fundamentally the same regardless of industry or profession. Your studies and workshops are simply not enough. One motivational book is not enough. Success requires a total change in the dynamic of who you are. Business superstars are people who think, and think differently, they speak differently, they act differently and they have a broad knowledge base. Successful people sound different when they talk. Their words are measured, intelligent and delivered with a calm confidence. Successful people are able to articulate complex ideas into simple words. They can see opportunities and they can understand people. They can write great advertisements, they can train and inspire others, they can use computers well and they can great create great ideas. It sounds incredible, but I assure you that this kind of multi-faceted mind is within you right now. Come Out of Hibernation You see, the truth is, most people have had their brain in hibernation since the day they started school. Children learn at a frightening pace in their formative years. It's well documented, that children under the age of 5 are the fastest learners on the planet. After the age of 5 we slow down. So what was it that slowed us down? SCHOOL! Structured learning. Albert Einstein once said "we use less than 10% of our brains". I believe we use far less than that. Albert was being generous!. The truth is, you have an incredible capacity for growth regarding your mental faculties. We all do. The key to truly creating massive and long term change in your life is through constant mental stimulation. Reading books, i.e. must reads, listening to business and self-improvement seminars are all sure fire ways to shake your brain out of its deep slumber.
